How Long Should You Stay in a Hot Tub?
If you’ve been reading along with us, it’s no surprise that utilizing a hot tub weekly increases your overall health and wellness, boosts your mood, and promotes relaxation. There are several things to take into consideration when preparing yourself for hot tub use. From the temperature to appropriate water care, and finally – what is the length of time in which you should start and stop your daily soak?
It’s important to know that the length of your soak can vary based on different circumstances. Generally, an average recommendation is anywhere between 15 to 30 minutes in your hot tub. While we encourage you to enjoy your hot tub as much as possible, it’s necessary to gauge your own health while taking a dip in your spa! At maximum, 45 to 60 minutes is allowed, but with careful consideration as to what your body can handle and what your average body temperature is set at.
If you are stretching more to the 45-60 minute range, it is important to know that overexposure to heat can result in heat-related illnesses, such as nausea, dizziness, or fainting. It’s always important to be cautious and watch the time in which you soak. Also, if you are pregnant or with children under the age of 12, it is also important to gauge the amount of time you are in a spa, as you could also be more susceptible to heat-related illnesses.=
